SPLASH & DASH CANCELLATION
May 10, 2012, 9:25 am
Unfortunately the rain yesterday evening was more than 0.2 of an inch.
Tempe is under the juristiction of Maricopa County Flood Control
District who mandates with rainfall more than 0.2 of an inch certain
water tests must be performed. These tests take at least 24 hours to be
completed. As such both The City of Tempe and 4 Peaks Racing must
follow safety protocols and not allow swimming in the lake prior to
these water tests coming back negative. As such today\'s Splash & Dash
is cancelled. All registered participants will receive either a refund
or transfer to a future Splash & Dash. Please submit refund requests by
Thursday May 17, thereafter registrations will be transferred to a
future Splash & Dash.
The tentative fall schedule is:
1. September 20th - Swim 750m/1500m & 5km Run
2. October 4th - Swim 750m/1500m & 5km Run
3. October 14th - Swim 1000m/2000m & 5km Run
4. November 10th - Swim 1500m/3000m & 5km Run -
RUN FOR RYAN - Cancelled
May 6, 2011, 8:48 am
To all of the registered or potentially registered participants in the “Run for Ryan” on May 14th, we are greatly disappointed to announce that this event is being canceled. With so many races and other events competing with ours, we simply don’t have the turnout we had hoped for. Thus the event wouldn’t help achieve our mission which is to raise money in order to contribute on Ryan’s behalf to organizations such as “Outdoor Experiences 4 All”, “Cell Phones for Soldiers”, and “Arizona Game and Fish Water Safety”.
We are very appreciative to those that have signed up already and will work to coordinate refunds for you including any charges you may have had to pay during registration. We hope that you will take time to remember the legacy and the impact that Ryan Thomas created in his short 21 years with us. I encourage you to visit www.theryanthomasfoundation.com if you are interested in learning more about Ryan or the hopes and mission we have at the Ryan Thomas Foundation. Should you wish to make your registration fee for this race a donation to the Foundation we greatly appreciate your contribution.
The Ryan Thomas Foundation will still make donations to the organizations listed above, and we will host the 3rd Annual Ryan Thomas Golf Tournament in the Fall of 2011. Please feel free to send an e-mail to theryanthomasfoundation@yahoo.com to contact the board members and/or the family members that spirit this organization.
Thank you for your generosity and support,
Brian CatesFor the Board of Directors
