St. Vincent de Paul Friends of the Poor 5km

St. Vincent de Paul Society is an international, charitable organization that provides food, rent, utilities, and other assistance to anyone in need. The St. Rose Philippine Duchesne and Good Shepherd Local Council is hosting the inaugural 5K run/walk to raise money to build a food pantry that will serve people living in the Desert Hills, Anthem Tramonto, New River, and Black Canyon City areas. All net proceeds will go towards building the food pantry. In addition to the entry fees, all entrants are encouraged to seek their own personal sponsors, so this much needed food pantry can soon be built and providing its much needed services.
All the profits from this race go to help build a St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry on the St. Rose Philippine Duchesne campus in Anthem, Arizona. The Food Pantry will provide assistance to anyone in need in the Anthem, New River, Desert Hills, Tramonto, and Black Canyon City areas.
The course is an out-and-back that is slightly up hill on the way out and slightly downhill on the way back. The course is predominantly asphalt with some packed dirt surfaces at the start/finish. Water will be available at he turn around and start/finish line.

Race packet pickup at St Rose Philippine Duchesne Parish in Anthem from 1:00 pm to 5:30pm.
Saturday, February 8
7:00 a.m. Race packet pick up and late registration begins
Sponsor and vendor booths open
9:00 a.m. Race Begins
9:30 a.m. Pancake Breakfast begins
10:00 a.m. Awards presentation
Your registration race number is your ticket for a free all-you-can eat pancake breakfast including hot syrup and melted butter and sausage, scrambled eggs, juice and coffee. This famous pancake breakfast is prepared by the Knights of Columbus and has been a favorite of families in the St. Rose Community for years.
Non-racers can also eat as many pancakes as they’d like for the low, low price of $5 for adults and $3 for children 8 and under.
This race will be chip timed using disposable chip technology by RFID Timing. Timing chips are on the reverse side of your race number. Race numbers should be worn the correct way up, pinned to the front of your shirt and worn over your belly button.
