THE HOPE RUN
April 5, 2014 - 8:00AM
Registration is closed for this event
The Hope Run is a 5km Charity Run to benefit Winged Hope Family Advocacy Foundation. Participants and the community at large are invited to drop by the park and bring a new, unwrapped toy for a chance to win some cool prizes! The toys will be given to abused children who are brought to the Southwest Family Advocacy Center. There will also be other child abuse and domestic violence organizations at The Hope Run spreading their message of hope!
All profits from this event will go towards Winged Hope Family Advocacy Foundation! Winged Hope is a non-profit 501c3 that educates communities about child abuse and domestic violence awareness, prevention, and treatment with a special focus on treatment once someone has been the victim of abuse, specifically through the use of Family Advocacy Centers.
Winged Hope helps to support the start up and sustainability of Family Advocacy Centers. Family Advocacy Centers are essentially a 'one-stop shop' for children and women who have been victims of abuse. By utilizing a multi-disciplinary method of investigation with organizations such as law enforcement, medical professionals, and mental health providers, Family Advocacy Centers provide a less traumatic, more streamlined process for the victim and ultimately a stronger prosecution against the perpetrator.
